What do I get by joining the Village?

 

In short, what you get with your Village membership is simply opportunity to live well, and get involved as little or as much as you wish.

 

Website: calendar of events, registration for programs and events, requests for services, volunteer opportunities, members only resources

Weekly Newsletter:
Upcoming village programs and events plus selected events at neighboring villages and in Roxborough and Manayunk

Discussion Forum:
members share information such as business referrals, buy-sell-trade, meetup & events, arts & crafts, non-partisan advocacy, and book-movie-television discussion.

Social Events:
weekly coffee breaks, weekly walks, monthly lunches, monthly happy hours, and pot luck socials

Educational Activities:
book and movie discussion groups, nature walks, garden visits, museum tours, and a variety of lectures and programs

Wellness Programs:
chair yoga, weekly walks in the Wissahickon, and a variety of senior health lectures and programs

In-home Assistance:
volunteer members who help with computers, TV or cable, cellphones, computer security and help with household chores such as changing lightbulbs or alarm batteries

Ride Assistance
by volunteer members to medical appointments

Meaningful Volunteer Activities:
driving a member, hosting an event, presenting a program, or serving on a committee

Service Providers/Contractors
recommended by members

Cost of Membership (payable annually):

 

Individual: $125 per year

Household: $175 per year

 

Anyone unable to pay the full membership fee may apply for an Assisted Membership by contacting the Membership Chair at 267-519-7673.
